I definitely prefer regular sugar to artificial sweetener. Whether it's preconceived notions or what have you, I just have always liked sugar better. However this stuff called Stavia that I tried awhile back is an excellent alternative I've grown to like.
There are several factors that go into determining what to think out of these statistics. For instance, are the people drinking diet soda because they want to lose weight? Are they justifying other eating habits because they are drinking diet soda? I would tend to think that its moreso people are seeing it as a healthy alternative to help them lose weight.
Both sugar and honey are delectable. In some ways honey is a little more natural, but I don't think it really matters that much.
I've read a lot about high-fructose corn syrup and have mentioned it a few times in this blog. I tend to believe some of the stuff it says, and it makes sense. The more pure form I would consider to be better for me. It also tastes better too.
I have not heard of Stavia until just now. I guess I will have to try it because I have not found anything to take place of sugar for me.
ReplyDeleteSugar is sugar, your body digests it just the same. As far as your body is concerned there is no difference what-so-ever between white sugar and high fructose corn syrup. However, the cane industry would like you to not believe that so you'll buy pure cane products. =)
